With reference to your letter of the 3rd instant, 29150/1901, on the subject of the transfer of War Department land to the Colonial Government for the dock extension of the Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock Company;
I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acquaint you, for the information of Mr. Secretary Chamberlain, that he agrees to the withdrawal of Nos. 5 and 7 of the conditions proposed to be attached to the transfer.

The other conditions have been referred to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty who have been informed that the Secretary of State for War agrees to the withdrawal of Nos. 5 and 7, and they have been asked to reply direct to the Colonial Office regarding the conditions affecting Naval interests.
